Prime Day 2019 – Get Big Savings on Tech, Gear and Family Stuff

Most recently updated November 19th, 2019

Unless you’ve been hiding out in the backwoods off the grid somewhere – which might actually happen with some of you guys! – you’ve probably heard of Amazon Prime and Prime Day.

If you haven’t heard of it, here’s everything you need to know about Amazon Prime Day 2019:

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day 2019 is July 15-16

The deal is that Amazon – the huge online store that sells everything on Earth and delivers it right to your front door – has an annual humongous sale every summer that’s called Prime Day.

Other summer sales are okay, and Black Friday can be pretty amazing, but the annual Prime Day online shopping event is a major opportunity to nab some bargains on Amazon.

Products all across the Amazon site are discounted, as well as some product launches.

I’m not a fan of conspicuous consumption, but everyone needs things for their home, their kids – and of course outdoor gear – and I am a big fan of getting quality items that you need at the best possible price!

Prime Day can help you do that.

Prime Day 2019 is July 15-16

Whether you’ve been lusting after a big ticket tech, gear or household item or just want to try some new beauty brands and get the kids’ back-to-school stuff at a discount, now would be the time to go for it!

Why Is It Called “Prime Day”?

The reason it’s called “Prime Day” is that in order to be eligible for all of the really good deals, is that you have to have an Amazon Prime account.

Fortunately, if you don’t have one, you can sign up for a Free 30 Day Prime Membership Trial now, use it for the deals and then keep it (or not) after the sale is over.

Start your 30-Day Free Trial!

Your membership will not only let you get the deals on Prime Day, but you’ll also have access to Amazon Prime books, music, photos, next day delivery and other benefits, including access to Prime Video, so it’s worth a try for sure.

All you need is an Amazon account with a valid credit card tied to the account. Once you sign up, you’ll have access to all the Prime benefits, and the biggest shopping event of the year!

Okay, so once you have a Prime membership, you can access all of the deals – and some have already started!!

This Year Prime Day is Really Two Days

The first Amazon Prime Day, introduced in 2015 to celebrate Amazon’s 20th anniversary,  was a one-day-only retail holiday.  This year, Prime Day will be a 48-hour sale event held on July 15-16.

Amazon Prime Day 2019 is taking place on Monday, July 15 from 12:00 am (Pacific Time) and running through 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) Tuesday, July 16.

It will feature major deals on Amazon devices, as well as over 1 million other deals sitewide – including with all prices exclusive to Prime members.

Some discounts are available throughout Amazon Prime Day, while other “Lightning” deals are usually only for a limited time – sometimes just for a matter of hours – so it pays to get in there early.

Early Deals Are Happening Now

Although Amazon Prime Day 2019 isn’t until July 15 and 16, Amazon has already released a few deals to get you warmed up for the big annual event.

These deals are live right now and available through Prime Day, which ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on July 16.

Remember that you must be a member of Amazon Prime to get the Prime Day deals.  If you’re not a member you can sign up for a free trial today that will last you through the sale and beyond.

You’ll need some sort of pack for your essentials.

If you’ve been eyeballing something on these pages, you should take another look during Prime Day, to see if anything you want is on sale!

Some of the items on these pages are at a special price for Amazon Prime members, whether or not it’s Prime Day, so be sure to get your membership before you buy.
